For Modern Music:
Traditional note reading and/or by tablature, as well as by ear. The student will learn all of the essential and proper
techniques required to play contemporary music, as well as ear training and improvisation for "jamming" with other
musicians or the radio.
Classical Training:
All the essential lessons as well as exercises in technique, theory, sight reading and ear training. Contemporary
music can be mixed into the lesson if desired.

Your teacher will advise you how long your individual practice times should be depending upon your level and age. Practicing often is more productive than having few lengthy practices. Try to make sure you practice later on the same day as your lesson, that way you can reinforce the new things you've learned before they slip your mind.
